Casual workforce, with the
legal weight on us.
When a worker takes one of your shifts, MyGig is their employer - not you. That means workers comp, super, PAYG, payroll, Fair Work obligations sit with us. You get reliable people on site, on time, paid correctly.
We sign the paperwork. ✦
Every shift posted on MyGig is performed by a worker employed by MyGig Workforce Pty Ltd. We hold their employment agreement, we pay them, and we carry the obligation under the Fair Work Act.
- Workers comp insurance - included on every shift
- Superannuation remitted at 12% on every $ earned - Payday Super compliant
- PAYG tax withheld and remitted, with payslips delivered
- Single Touch Payroll (STP) reported to the ATO as a registered Digital Service Provider, lodged directly from our own payroll system
- Public liability cover on every booking
- Award-correct rates from day one - with the clause cited
Modern Award-correct, every shift.
Every pay calculation cites the clause. Penalties, casual loading, public holiday rates, allowances, overtime, broken shift - all applied automatically, all auditable.
118 Modern Awards mapped
Full Award interpretation embedded, built in-house. Hospitality, General Retail, Storage Services, Building & Construction, Cleaning Services, Horticulture, and more. Read our plain-English Modern Award guides.
Penalties, automatically
Saturday +25%, Sunday +50%, public holidays +150%, overtime, early starts, broken shift - all applied to the correct base.
Allowances handled
Industry allowances, tool allowances, vehicle, laundry, meal - whatever the award says, we apply.
The rules underneath all of this move, usually on 1 July. We keep a dated record of what changed and when, with the regulator cited on every entry: casual employment law updates.
Configuring the rules yourself is not the same as being right.
Most payroll systems handle awards by letting you set up pay rules: you tell the software what the loading is, when penalties start, which classification someone sits in. It calculates reliably from whatever you told it. That is a real service, and it leaves one thing exactly where it started.
You configure the rules
The interpretation is yours. If a classification was mapped wrongly two years ago, the software has been faithfully reproducing that error every pay run since, and the underpayment is yours to find, fix and back-pay.
You are also still the employer, so the obligation was never going anywhere.
MyGig interprets, and cites the clause
The engine prices each hour against the correct Modern Award and shows the clause it relied on, so the reasoning can be checked rather than trusted. Nothing is configured by you, so nothing is misconfigured by you.
And because MyGig is the Employer of Record, the obligation itself sits with MyGig, not with your business.
That is the distinction worth being clear about: better payroll software makes the same work faster. Handing over employment removes the work. How that is structured is on employer of record, and what fully outsourced casual payroll covers is on payroll outsourcing.
Your data, handled like payroll data should be.
