Questions, answered plainly.
What MyGig is, what it costs, and how it works - the same answers we give on a call, without the call. More detail lives on how it works, pricing, and the platform.
What is MyGig?
MyGig is an Australian Workforce-as-a-Service (WaaS) platform operated by MyGig Workforce Pty Ltd (ABN 20 692 462 856), headquartered in Sydney. Businesses post shifts and book vetted casual workers from MyGig's flexible workforce; MyGig employs the workers and runs recruitment, award-interpretation, payroll, superannuation, and invoicing end to end.
How much does MyGig cost?
One flat 15% service fee on gross pay and on-costs (superannuation, workers compensation, payroll tax). No setup fees, no monthly minimums, no placement fees. The full cost estimate for every shift is shown before you book, and the fee is published - no quote call required.
How is MyGig different from a staffing agency or a shift app?
MyGig runs your flexible workforce as a service rather than selling you individual placements. An agency bills an opaque hourly rate with the margin buried inside; a shift app leaves you as the employer. MyGig employs the workers, prices every hour against the correct Modern Award with the clause cited, and charges one published 15% fee - you activate capacity, we carry the employment.
Who employs the workers?
MyGig Workforce Pty Ltd does, as the Employer of Record. Employment contracts, payroll, PAYG withholding, superannuation, workers compensation, and Fair Work award compliance sit with MyGig - your business books the shifts and pays one invoice.
What does MyGig handle for my business?
Recruitment and screening (30+ verified data points per worker), onboarding, worker-shift matching, time and attendance, the award-interpretation compliance engine that prices every hour with the clause cited, payroll with next-day pay, 12% superannuation, workers compensation, and consolidated invoicing.
Is MyGig registered with the ATO for Single Touch Payroll?
Yes. MyGig is a registered Digital Service Provider (DSP) with the ATO, lodging Single Touch Payroll directly from its own payroll system. Every pay run reports to the ATO as it happens rather than being exported to a third-party bureau, which is what lets pay, PAYG withholding and reporting land on the same day the shift is worked.
How does MyGig handle superannuation and payday super?
Superannuation is remitted at 12% on ordinary time earnings, and because payroll runs daily rather than weekly or fortnightly, contributions move with the pay instead of waiting for a quarter to close. That is 365 contribution cycles a year against the four a quarterly cycle produces, so the payday super obligation is met by how the system already runs rather than by a change to it.
Did MyGig build its own payroll and award-interpretation systems?
Both, in-house. The payroll system runs daily pay runs with automated payouts, so workers are paid the day after every shift. The award-interpretation engine maps 118 Modern Awards and prices each hour against the correct classification, applying casual loading, penalties and overtime, and citing the award clause on the estimate, the invoice and the payslip. Building both rather than buying them is what makes daily, award-correct pay possible at all.
Which industries does MyGig cover?
Warehousing and 3PL logistics, retail, hospitality, and events are the deepest pools, with construction, cleaning, agriculture, and mining also live. Coverage is deepest across Sydney and NSW and grows by suburb - check your postcode in the app or ask us.
How fast can workers start, and how does matching work?
Most shifts attract their first qualified applicants within minutes of posting, and 90%+ of shifts fill network-wide. Worker-shift matching ranks vetted workers by verified skills, tickets, location, ratings, and availability; demand forecasting helps pools stay deep where shifts are coming.
